Armoured Combat & Fencing Competition
Viscount Cernach the Navigator - current Champion in both categories
Format: In both cases, the tournaments will be run as a round robin. Fighters who win a bout without taking a hit in return will score 3 points. Fighters who win a bout but take a wound, score 1 point. Double kills are counted as mutual losses, and not refought. Both fighters score 0 points.

Bonus points for using multiple weapons’ forms.
Each fighter scores a bonus point for every bout in which they use a different authorised weapon form from their previous bout. They keep getting this bonus so long as they use a different weapon from their list of authorisations. Once they have fought one bout in each authorised form, they can restart on their list of authorised forms and keep gaining this bonus point.

If fighters have only one authorised form, they get this +1 bonus every bout.

Fighters may use whichever weapon forms they are authorised in.  At the conclusion of the round-robin, the top three scoring fighters will progress to a round-robin final, if time allows. If not, the winner will be determined from the round-robin scores.

Exception for Fencing Tournament:
When fighting against a fencer who has only one authorised form, the default weapon form is single sword. In this case, neither fencer gains the bonus for changing weapons forms. If the fencer with only a single authorisation decides, at their discretion, to allow their opponent to use a different weapon form, then they become eligible for the bonus point that round, as does their opponent.

Fencers may use whichever weapon forms they are authorised in. This may be in ‘heavy rapier’ or Cut & Thrust, so long as the fencers agree, are authorised, equipped and ready. In the absence of agreement, the default fencing ruleset is heavy rapier.

What is an Event?

What is Court?

Our Events (like the one on this page) are usually garbed, and we bring our own Medieval-style cutlery and crockery to eat with.

If you don't have your own gear, let us know and we can supply loaner stuff.  Just fire an email off to the event steward/s listing what you need and quantity/sizes.
