Awards

A great way to recognise someone's contributions to the Barony, Principality and the Kingdom is to recommend them for an Award. For those who put the time and effort in the areas they take interest in, to learn, create, teach, fight, cook, organise and keep the wheels turning in the background, there are many awards that they can be given by the respective Royals. Some of these carry titles, such as an Award of Arms which is given by Principality or Kingdom Royals and officially recognises the recipient as a Noble of the Court.

If you have encountered a member of the SCA that you think is deserving of recognition for something they have done or continue to do, there is likely an Award for it!

Recommend someone for an award

There are different types of awards that are given out by the Barony of Eplaheimr as well as awards given by the Principality of Insulae Draconis and Kingdom of Drachenwald. You can find out more about the various award names and descriptions on the Order of Precedence (the list of who has what award, called OP for short) on the Drachenwald Website.

To make an Award recommendation visit https://op.drachenwald.sca.org/recommend. Use the Search section to look for the person to see if they have any previous Awards (including the one you think they should get! Sometimes they might already have it - but sometimes the Order of Precedence might not be current.). If you already know what you want them to get, click on "Recommend" and fill out the webform as best you can.

From here, the Royals will read the recommendations, decide if they wish to give the Award, commission an official Scroll from their wonderful army of scribes, and present the Award in Court if the recipient is at the event - or make alternative arrangements if they are not.
