Bardic plans for 12th night

Nollaig na mBan, or Women's Christmas is a long-standing tradition in Ireland. The event staff for 12th night have decided to honour that in several ways.

For the Bardic arts, we will be hosting "Do gairm Bríd" or Brigid's Bardic Slam.

Brigid/Brigit/Bríd is variously identified as a triple-aspect pagan goddess or a christian saint. In her incarnation as a goddess, one of her aspects was as the goddess of poetry.  The Sanas Cormaic written in the 10th century describes her as "the goddess whom poets adored".

As such, she seems a fitting figure to preside over the Bardic arts at 12th night Coronation.

All performances, Poetry, Prose, Song, Instrumental, Theatrical, Monologue, Dialogue etc. should be on the general theme of women and may be period or original (in period style).

By the theme of "Women" we mean anything mainly about women, or a specific woman in history, myth or SCA, their accomplishments, exploits, life aspects/milestones, adventures, material goods etc.

We are rather excited to see what the talented Bards in this kingdom will create!
